Get Quote View BrochureRadiography Testing (RT) is one of the most popular non-destructive testing methods used to detect defects in a wide range of products. It uses x-rays or gamma rays to identify flaws in weld quality, castings, structures, and composites. It is used predominantly in the fabricating and casting industries for quality control, where it reveals faults such as porosity, inclusions, and cracks.
Radiography Testing encompasses a wide range of techniques from film usage to digital, with digital techniques ranging from computed (CR) and direct (DR) to real-time radiography (RTR) and computed tomography (CT). The technique is commonly used on welded parts, castings, forgings, composites and is also used for corrosion mapping and the measurement of wall thickness.
There are numerous types of RT techniques including conventional radiography and multiple forms digital radiographic testing.
1. Conventional Radiography
Our radiographic inspection staff are certified to ASNT Central Certification Program (ACCP), PCN (ISO 9712 compliant), EN 4179 and NAS 410. Our Level II and Level III technicians can perform conventional film radiography, a portable method which is capable of revealing the most microscopic cracks in metallic materials.
2. Digital Radiography
We also have the latest digital radiographic equipment where images are displayed directly onto a computer screen and can quickly and easily be shared. Furthermore, the digital images are much higher quality when compared to conventional radiographic images. With the ability to capture highly quality images, the technology can be utilized to identify flaws in a material, foreign object in a system, examine weld repairs, and inspect for corrosion under insulation.
The five most commonly utilized digital radiography techniques in the oil & gas and chemical processing industries are computed radiography, direct radiography, real-time radiography, and computed tomography.
Radiography Testing method which can be performed in the laboratory or on-site on parts and components of varying dimensions. The radiographic technique uses X-rays or gamma rays to penetrate the tested component. The radiation is passed through the part and captured on radiographic film.
Our qualified, certified, professional radiographers operate within strict safety parameters. We produce high-quality radiographs that allow us to utilize our interpretation skills honed through many years of experience to determine if an anomaly is actually a defect, or if it can be accepted per code requirements.
Vegas Consulting provides a complete line of radiographic testing services for inspecting a wide variety of materials and product forms, employing gamma and x-ray inspection for both shop and field applications. We have invested in state of the art film processing equipment which guarantees quick turnaround times. We can provide immediate on-site RT results with our mobile darkroom which offers fully automated film processing.
We offer both laboratory and on-site radiographic testing, and our highly experienced and trained radiographic staff are Level 2 or 3 qualified PCN, ASNT, SNT-TC-1A and EN 4179 / NAS 410 and offer total quality assurance.
Our technician is capable of providing Radiographic Testing Services using the most advanced methods suitable to any product process and environmental condition. Please contact us with any other question or concerns regarding our ability to complete your projects.
Radiographic inspections can be performed using either X-Ray or Gamma Ray Radiography.
